TULSA - The Salvation Army kicks off its annual Red Kettle campaign Thursday and organizers say they need all the help they can get this year.
The Salvation Army says because of the economy, they'll help 1,000 more people in the Tulsa area this year compared to 2011.
On Thursday afternoon, organizers announced 2012 campaign goal is to raise $650.000 in Red Kettle collections.
The official Red Kettle campaign kicked off at noon Thursday at the brand new Reasor's at 111th and Memorial in Bixby. Drop by and leave a donation in the giant kettle that will be parked in front of the store throughout the evening.
Reasor's is matching funds raised on the first day of the campaign up to $5,000.
