SEQUOYAH COUNTY, Okla. - A Sallisaw woman accused of trying to sell her two children pleaded guilty in a Sequoyah County court Friday.
Misty VanHorn was sentenced to 10 years in prison for two counts of child trafficking.
Police say 22-year-old Misty VanHorn allegedly contacted a woman in March from Fort Smith, Ark., with an offer to sell her 2-year-old and 10-month-old children.
Police say the Fort Smith woman notified the Oklahoma Department of Human Services -- which then notified Sallisaw police.
Police say VanHorn asked for $1,000 for the 2-year-old or $4,000 for both to raise money to bail her boyfriend out of jail.
