Robbery suspect forces store employees to floor, demands money from safe

TULSA - Tulsa police are looking for a man they say robbed a Popeye's Chicken Restaurant near Pine and Peoria.

Officers say just before 9 p.m. Tuesday a man was finishing his food as employees locked up the place.  The suspect then asked to speak to a manager and said "this is a stick up, everybody get down."

Police say the suspect had his hand on a gun in his waistband.

After forcing 12 employees to the floor, police say he told the manager to open the safe.  Then he took off on foot and jumped the fence behind the store.

Police are examining some evidence they found on the other side of the fence.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 30 years of age.  He is about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 160 to 180 pounds.

The suspect was wearing a black beanie cap and a brown leather jacket.  He was described as "scruffy" looking.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
