A water main break in south Tulsa caused traffic issues for morning commuters on Wednesday.

Only one lane in each direction is open on 51st Street west of Yale, while crews dig into the ground to replace a 12-inch pipeline.

At least five businesses are affected by the water main break. A Sonic employee said they'll be closed until repairs are finished because they don't have any water.

He estimates about 200 customers grab their coffee and breakfast every morning.

City of Tulsa workers say the repairs could take up to 12 hours and should be completed in the evening. The lane closures are expected to stay in place for up to a week as crews work to repair the roads.
