QuikTrip prepared for Hostess shutdown

TULSA - QuikTrip officials say they were prepared well in advance for Hostess' decision to liquidate the company.

The convenience store chain says they are probably one of Hostess' largest customers in the Tulsa area.

In addition to the wrapped products like Twinkies, Sno Balls, and Wonder Bread, they also used Hostess buns for their roller-grill items.

QuikTrip spokesman Mike Thornbrugh tell 2NEWS that customers shouldn't worry.

"We made both short-term and long-term provisions in case this day ever came and unfortunately it did," he said.

Some QuikTrip stores told 2NEWS that they sold out of some Hostess products on Friday.

Thornbrugh says, however, that the stores should still get some new shipments.
