PSO officials say power crews will work through rain to restore outages for thousands in Tulsa Co.

TULSA - Power officials say the rain that fell on Green Country Friday did not hamper restoration efforts.

PSO spokesman Stan Whiteford said the rain would not put crews behind schedule.  Around 17,000 customers are still without power in Tulsa County as of 2 p.m. Friday but those outages are expected to be restored by 5 p.m. Saturday.

About 1,400 linemen traveled to the Tulsa area from 10 other states to join the restoration effort.  At the height of the outage nearly 100,000 customers were without power, but more than half of the outages were restored within a day of the severe storms that swept through Green Country in the early morning hours of July 24.
