NEWCASTLE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a pregnant Texas woman and her fetus were killed when the pickup truck they were riding in crashed on Interstate 44 near Newcastle.
Troopers say 25-year-old Eva Heide of La Mesa, Texas, and her fetus died and two others in the vehicle were seriously injured in the collision Saturday.
Investigators say Heide was a passenger in a truck that collided with another vehicle on the interstate, then hit a bridge and overturned. Troopers say Heide was thrown from the truck and was struck by the second vehicle.
Two people in the second vehicle were treated and released at a local hospital.
