TULSA -- Tulsa police arrested a 36-year-old man Friday after they said he killed a dog to avenge his own cat's death.

According to police report, police talked to three witnesses who said they saw Darren White beat a dog to death with a baseball bat. Witnesses said they also saw White run over the dog with his truck.

Police said the dog was dead when they arrived on scene. Officers said the dog had a collar on but they couldn't locate the owner.

The police report said White killed the dog to avenge the death of his cat, who he recently buried.

White was arrested in the 100 block of North Marion Street on a complaint of cruelty to animals and has since posted bail.
