Suspect arrested after Bartlesville standoff

BARTLESVILLE, Okla. - Police arrest a man wanted for multiple armed robberies after an hours-long standoff in Bartlesville.  

The standoff began around 4 p.m. when police arrived at a home near southwest Elm to serve a felony warrant. 

Police say James Black is wanted for armed robberies at local restaurants in both Enid and Bartlesville.

Police say a hostage was allowed to leave the residence unharmed. After hours of negotiation, officials shot gas into the home to force Black out. 

He is now in the custody of Bartlesville police. 

The Washington County Sheriff's Office also assisted in this incident.
