TULSA -- Tulsa police are looking for help from any possible witnesses after a man was shot while walking into his sister's apartment in east Tulsa.

Officers say they do not know if the man was targeted or if he was a random victim in the shooting at the Garden Courtyard Apartments near 41st and Garnett Monday night.

The 50-year-old man's name has not been released.

Police say he was bringing food to his ailing sister when he was shot.

"She was here, heard the shots, didn't realized her brother was the victim," said Corporal Wendell Franklin.

Police say the man appeared to have all his belonging, so they are not sure if robbery was the motive.

This was the fifth homicide reported on Monday and the seventh since the start of the new year.

If you have any information about the shooting you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
