JAY, Okla. - The man at the helm of a boat that crashed last year on Grand Lake, killing two of his passengers , was in court Monday in Delaware County.
John Deselms is facing two charges of first-degree manslaughter.
Prosecutors say Deselms was under the influence in May 2013 when he crashed into a house boat, killing his passengers Rachel Swetnam and Trey Varner.
Deselms appeared in front of a judge Monday where he and his attorney set a date for late August to enter a plea deal, the details of which have not been released.
The Delaware County district attorney tells 2NEWS Deselms returns to the courtroom Aug. 29 at which time the details of the plea deal will become known.
