Tip leads to arrest in weekend Owasso bank robbery, bomb scare

OWASSO, Okla. -- A suspect is in custody after a weekend robbery and bomb scare at Owasso's IBC Bank.

On Saturday afternoon, the Tulsa Bomb Squad was dispatched to clear the bank near 96th Street North and North Garnett.

Police say the suspect passed a note to a teller.  The note demanded cash and said if the suspect didn't get it a bomb would detonate in the building.

No explosives were found in the building but security cameras inside the bank captured multiple images of the suspect, leading to a tip identifying him as 37-year-old Steven Auten.

Police say Auten fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

After investigators received the tip, Auten was arrested early Monday morning.

He's currently awaiting transport to the Tulsa County Jail.
