OWASSO -- The Owasso City Council has unanimously voted to negotiate a contract with Warren Lehr as the new city manager.
Councilors met Saturday morning in executive session to interview applicants and discuss the hiring and employment of an applicant for the position of City Manager,” according to the council agenda. The council voted 5-0.
Lehr has served as the interim city manager for the past six months. Previously, he served as the assistant city manager.
“I’m extremely pleased and honored by the council’s confidence and support,” Lehr said in a statement Saturday afternoon. “I’m looking forward to continuing efforts in providing quality services to our citizens.”
Lehr replaces former city manager Rodney Ray.
