Oklahoma DOT asking for public input about Highway 169 improvements between 56th, 76th Street North

TULSA - Here's your chance to offer your thoughts about one of Tulsa's highways.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation is asking for input from the public about the proposed improvement to widen US-169 between 56th St. North and 76th St. North.

The proposal includes widening the stretch of highway from four lanes to six lanes, replacing eight bridges and also making improvements at the 56th St. North interchange.

You can submit your comments by emailing environment@odot.org or in writing to the Environmental Programs Division Engineer, 200 N.E. 21st Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73105.

Public comments will be accepted until July 15, 2013.

Bridges located at 56th St. North, Bird Creek and the Bird Creek Overflow are tentatively scheduled for replacement in 2016, and a bridge replacement project at the 76th St. North interchange is tentatively scheduled in 2017.

The widening work is not scheduled at this time.
