OWASSO, Okla. – A vehicle pursuit that started in Owasso eventually landed the suspect in Tulsa after authorities effectively deflated all the tires on his car.

John Doble, 52, was reportedly driving a red Dodge Neon near 10600 southbound on US-169 when an Owasso officer attempted to issue a traffic stop. Authorities say Doble failed to pull over, initiating a vehicle pursuit southbound toward US-169.

The first tire deflation device was deployed around 5600 south on 169, but it only disabled one of Doble’s tires, says Owasso police.

While the deflated tire slowed speeds in the chase, says police, the pursuit continued towards Tulsa. Doble eventually exited at Pine Street and Tulsa police deployed a second tire deflation device.

The second device effectively deflated the remaining tires on Doble’s vehicle, says Owasso police.

Doble reportedly then fled from the vehicle on foot near the 6800th block of East Haskell. He was later apprehended at a convenience store near Interstate 244 and Sheridan.

Doble now faces charges of attempting to elude police, impersonation, obstruction, and possession of a firearm (afcf), possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, carrying weapons, and possession of burglary tools, several related traffic offenses and 5 outstanding district warrants.  His outstanding warrants were for; possession of a control substance, possession of paraphernalia, 2nd degree burglary, false impersonation and application to revoke a suspended sentence.
