A 27-year-old man is in custody Sunday after a shotgun shooting that left one teenager dead in north Tulsa, according to police reports.

Around 6 p.m., TPD was called to 3745 N. Birmingham Ave., the scene of a shooting that resulted in the death of 19-year-old Daquan Hura, Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker reported.

He said Hura was killed by a shotgun blast.

Police used a K9 officer to find the suspect, Chase Stewart, 27, in a field behind the Mohawk Manor Apartments.

It appears that neither Hura nor Stewart lived at the apartments where the shooting took place, the police report noted. Witnesses said the two were engaged in an argument prior to the shooting.

Stewart was interviewed and arrested for first degree murder.  This is Tulsa’s 30th homicide for 2017.
