TULSA, Okla. - Police say one man was killed and another is in the hospital after a failed home invasion on Saturday.
Detectives say a male entered an apartment at the Greens of Bedford Apartments in southeast Tulsa, armed with an handgun and assaulted the homeowner. The homeowner then shot the suspect.
During the shooting, a second male entered the apartment, who police say the homeowner knew. He was shot and left the apartment.
Police say they got the call reporting armed robbery in progress around 8:30 p.m. When they arrived they found the man in his 40s dead with a gunshot wound.
Police searched the area with K-9 units and the police helicopter after the shooting, but they were unable to find the second person shot.
The second man, identified as Tommy Debrosse, arrived at a Hillcrest South hospital around 6 a.m. Sunday, with a gunshot wound to the face, back and arm.
The homeowner and a second person were questioned, but were released, officials said.
"The investigation to date reveals that the shooting appears to be justified and the apartment renter is not arrested," Dave Walker of the Tulsa Police Department said in a release Sunday. "It is anticipated that as the investigation continues arrests are likely in this case."
Police say Debrosse will face homicide charges upon recovery.
