Okla. St. regents select corm construction

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma State Board of Regents has selected Flintco of Tulsa as the construction manager for a new dorm on the Stillwater campus.

The regents made the choice during a meeting Friday in Muskogee.

The new residence hall is to provide room for 800 to 900 students to help offset the loss of space with the future demolition of Kerr-Drummond Hall. Kerr-Drummond is home to about 1,100 students and the university plans to realign other dorms to further compensate for the loss of rooms.

Kerr-Drummond is not to be demolished until the new facility is complete in the northwest area of campus.

University officials say a review of 46-year-old Kerr-Drummond Hall found all its major systems need overhaul -- including its plumbing, heating and air conditioning.
