TULSA - Not even two full weeks after the attacks at the Boston Marathon, Oklahoma City will host the 13th annual Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon.
On April 28, runners from the Sooner state and across the U.S. will meet at the starting line to race in the Run to Remember. The race was formed to remember those whose lives were lost in the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing in downtown Oklahoma City April 19, 1995.
This year it has added meaning as the starting gun will go off 13 days after the tragic events of the Boston Marathon.
2NEWS Works for You will be in Oklahoma City to cover the race live on Channel 2 and on our website and smartphone and tablet apps.
Russ McCaskey, Karen Larsen and Big Al Jerkens will kick off our coverage at 7 a.m and continue until 11 a.m.
You can follow us on Twitter @KJRH2HD using #2okcmarathon. We'll also post photos to our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/kjrhtv.
