O'Collegian: Former OSU Farmhouse Fraternity member under investigation for sexual assault

STILLWATER, Okla. - Stillwater police and Oklahoma State University are investigating allegations of sexual assault on campus.

The university newspaper reports it received an anonymous email claiming a former member of Farmhouse Fraternity committed more than 10 assaults on new members.

The Daily O'Collegian reports the incidents allegedly happened in several locations in addition to OSU.

In response, the university issued a statement Monday evening.

"Oklahoma State University took the allegations very seriously and took immediate action. Due to federal laws (FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act), OSU was not allowed to contact police. On numerous occasions, OSU officials encouraged the students to contact police and provided contact information. None of the students elected to contact police at that time."

"OSU proceeded swiftly with its student conduct process.  It met with the first of five alleged victims on Nov. 12 and all hearings were completed and rulings determined Nov. 30.  Due to FERPA, OSU cannot provide the results of those hearings until the appeal period has expired and the results become final."
