WASHINGTON - The decision about whether the Red Clay Casino can be built on the proposed site in Broken Arrow is now in the hands of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
The mayor and vice mayor of Broken Arrow met with the NIGC and the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Washington D.C. Monday.
NIGC officials say they now have all the information on whether the land is eligible for gaming, but they did not give a timetable as to when they will announce a decision.
The Red Clay Casino, proposed by the Kialegee Tribal Town, is currently under construction at 111th and 129th East Avenue in Broken Arrow.
The casino is scheduled to open this summer.
