Castle of Muskogee hosts 16th century English village in 18th annual Oklahoma Renaissance Festival

The Castle of Muskogee kicks off the 18th annual Oklahoma Renaissance Festival this weekend.

"When you enter the gates of Castleton, you enter what many see as a fantasy land," re-enactor Lisa Marenghi said.

The festival features king, queens, knights, magicians, jugglers, musicians, dancers and jousters on 15 stages.  Merchants include food vendors and over 120 artisans.

There's a lot of things that won't make you forget, but it will take your mind off things," Duwayne Mills said. "There are things 'in the world' that you may have never experienced before."

The Oklahoma Renaissance Festival opens the first weekend in May. Shows are every weekend in May, including Memorial Day weekend and the first weekend in June.
