OWASSO, Okla. - A child is dead after a four-car crash on Highway 169 this morning.
The accident happened around 8 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the highway near 76th Street North. All lanes were reopened just after 10:30 a.m.
Two SUVS, one car and one truck were involved in the accident that resulted in at least one rollover.
An adult and a 5-year-old were transported from the scene to St. Francis Hospital with serious injuries, but another child -- a 8-year-old girl -- was pronounced deceased following the accident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
Deputy Chief of Police Jason Woodruff says the preliminary investigation suggests distracted driving may have contributed to the accident when one of the drivers did not see traffic had slowed and struck the other vehicles in its path.
