TULSA - Mothers mingled with celebrities and super heroes this Mother's Day at the 2014 Tulsa Comic Expo.
With increased attendance this year, promoter Ken Daniels says the expo will return next year.
Daniels says what started out as a celebration of geek culture now sees more mainstream exposure. A 16-year veteran of show producing, his goal remains the same.
"For people to just walk in and to just immerse themselves. Have fun! Get lost," Daniels said. "I enjoy that. I like watching people's smiles on their faces."
This makes him a super hero to Samantha Passini and her kids for bringing the comic book experience to life.
"It definitely makes it the best Mother's Day I've had so far," Passini said.
The show ran from May 9 to May 11 at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center.
