TULSA - Another former patient of an embattled Tulsa and Owasso dentist is HIV-positive, the Oklahoma State Department of Health announced Thursday.
Three other ex-patients of Dr. Scott Harrington also reportedly tested positive for hepatitis C.
The Oklahoma State Board of Dentistry accused Harrington in March of a number of unhygienic practices, including the housing of rusted oral instruments and a drug vial that expired in 1993.

The OSDH and the Tulsa Health Department encouraged more than 7,000 of Harrington's former patients to be screened for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV after a recent hepatitis C positive test was linked to the dental surgeon.
More than 4,000 screenings have been completed at the Oklahoma State Department of Health's Public Health Laboratory. As of June 27, 77 patients have tested positive for hepatitis C, five for hepatitis B and four for HIV.

Friday is the final day for former Harrington patients to receive free testing at the North Regional Health and Wellness Center in Tulsa. Former patients who received a notification letter in the mail and have not yet been tested are advised to call the center at (918) 595-4380 to schedule an appointment.
2NEWS reporter Dan Pearlman spotted the dentist outside his now-closed Tulsa office Thursday. Harrington chose not to comment.
