TULSA - A break in the case of a missing woman has Bixby authorities hopeful.
Kelley Harris, 48, was last seen in early July. Bixby police say Harris' car, a 2000 Chrysler, was discovered by Tulsa police Friday at Bristol Park Apartments near 41st and Garnett.
"Certain items were recovered today after we processed the vehicle," said Bixby Sgt. Andrew Choate. "They will be sent to the lab for further examination, but these items would lead us to believe that Ms. Harris did not drive the vehicle to the apartments."
Bixby investigators hope the items will illuminate important details in the disturbing case.
"There's been no activity on her credit cards. No activity on her bank account, cell phone records," said Choate. "She just as the early morning hours of July Fourth, she fell off the map."
Walmart surveillance video captured the last recorded sighting of Harris on the day of her disappearance. Police say after leaving the store, Harris took the groceries home and visited a friend in Broken Arrow.
"She is always the gleaming light in this household," said Brad Chitwood, Harris' son. "So it's been really tough."
Weeks away from his marriage and the birth of his sister's baby, Chitwood says his mother's disappearance has shaken the family.
"Still not knowing is she OK? Is she not OK? Where is she at?" he said. "It's the hardest part about this whole deal."
Anyone with information about the Harris investigation is asked to call the Bixby Police Department at 918-366-8294.
