MCALESTER -- An inmate is back in custody after escaping from a McAlester correctional facility Saturday morning.
Mark W. Thompson, 51, escaped from Jackie Brannon Center between 3:30 a.m., officials said.
He was found around 6 a.m. about a mile down the road from his work site.
Thompson was serving a four year sentence for first-degree burglary in Tulsa County, according to Oklahoma Department of Correction records. He was set to be released in May of 2017
He was transferred to higher security facility.
