MAYES COUNTY, Okla. -- The Mayes County Sheriff’s Office now says what was believed to be an attempted abduction at a bus stop was just a concerned teacher.
A mother reported that while dropping her 8-year-old off at a school bus stop she noticed a strange white or grey van pull up to the child and open the door.
Authorities now say the incident was just a teacher making sure the student had a ride to school.
