Mannford woman pleads guilty to fraud; received federal assistance after 2013 fire

TULSA, Okla. (AP) - A Mannford woman has pleaded guilty to committing fraud to receive federal disaster payments for the 2013 wildfires.

Kerry Lynn Rowell admitted to receiving about $31,400 in aid from the Federal Emergency Disaster Agency after claiming a home destroyed by the fire was her primary residence.

That home was unoccupied and had no utility service at the time of the fire.

Rowell faces up to five years in prison and a fine of $250,000 when she is sentenced in August.
