Man tries to buy car he found online in east Tulsa parking lot, gets robbed at gunpoint

TULSA - A man was robbed during a car deal he set up online Saturday afternoon in east Tulsa.  

Around 2:45 p.m. the man went to go pick up a car near 41st and Garnett when another man walked up and demanded cash from him at gunpoint and struck him in the face. The suspect took off on foot with $1,300. 

The victim followed the suspect and saw him get into a 2014 Chevy Impala about two blocks south of Garnett. 

Police say it was a Craiglist type of sale. Cpt. Rick Helberg told 2NEWS that financial arrangements were made online and the transaction was suppose to take place in the parking lot. The purchase price was $1,300. Cpt. Helberg said police are investigating if this was a setup.

The suspect is a black male in his late teens and was wearing a red Carhart jacket. 

The victim was not hospitalized.
