TULSA - A man is in jail Saturday afternoon after leading police on a pursuit and causing damage to cars and a home.
About 7:30 Saturday morning an officer was almost hit when the driver of a jeep heading in the opposite direction, crossed over the center line near the 6800 block and 51st street. The officer put on his police lights and attempted to pull the driver over, police say.
The driver of the jeep immediately pulled into a neighborhood and officers say he was traveling at speeds near 45 MPH. The driver lost control and ran multiple stop signs and hit four parked cars. One of the cars was knocked into a home.
The pursuit ended near 4600 S. 72 E. Ave.
Police identified the driver as 32-year-old Ryan Steeves of Broken Arrow.
Police say during inventory of the car the officer found a glass pipe, cut off straws and white plastic baggies with a white substance inside. The substance was tested and showed positive for meth.
Steeves drivers license is under suspension and he didn't have insurance for the vehicle, officers say.
Steeves is booked into Tulsa County Jail on possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, crossing the center lane, eluding an officer, no insurance and a suspended drivers license. His bond is set at $4,100.
