A man is recovering in the hospital after he and the horse he was riding were hit by a car.
It happened in east Tulsa around 10 last night, near 11th and 193rd street.
Police are calling it a freak accident and will not be ticketing anyone.
"The horse was spooked. It started turning in circles and stepped out in front of the car, said Officer David Wages with Tulsa Police Department. "The horse was struck by the vehicle. The rider was thrown. He sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital but is in stable condition."
The woman driving the car was not injured.
Police say animal control was on their way to check on the horse, and they believe it will be just fine.
