Local businesses affected by storm

TULSA - Many businesses across midtown were forced to close because they were left in the dark Wednesday.

Closed signs were on store fronts all across Brookside. One restaurant owner had to get creative to keep his food from spoiling.

He got a generator and ran electrical cord to the coolers.

"It's frustrating. It's horribly frustrating. But you know, tomorrow's another day," said Michael Chipman, the owner of Sprout's Deli.

Meanwhile City Veterinarian Hospital in Brookside opened doors and windows too keep the place cool. Even though their phones were down, the vet picked up his cell phone and still did businesses.

They stayed open to take care of any pets.

The office manager says their job is 24/7 and they need to be there for the animals.
