LEFLORE COUNTY - The LeFlore County Sheriff's Office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation have been investigating the death of three people from a house fire that happened outside of Whitesboro on March 3rd.

The three people who died in the fire are identified as Edith Custard, 57, Lawrence Schlienz, 80, and Jacob Custard, 30, according to the LeFlore County Sheriff's website.

According to the release, the deaths and fire are being ruled as a double homicide and suicide.

The release says investigators found evidence at the scene, and with further investigation and interviews, police found that Jacob Custard murdered his parents, set the house on fire and shot himself.

Jacob Custard had a history of mental health issues and was no longer getting help, according to the release. Officials believe that is why this incident happened.

According to the release the State Fire Marshal was unable to determine a cause or origin of the fire because the house was destroyed.
