JENKS, Okla. - A man is dead and a baby is in pediatric intensive care in Jenks, police say.
Jenks authorities were called to the Shelby Place Apartments in the 400 block of East Aquarium Place before 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Someone from inside the apartment called 911 about a child not opening its eyes, according to Jenks Police Chief Cameron Arthur.
Arthur says 48-year-old Ray Allen Lykins was found dead when authorities arrived at the apartment.
The baby, a 1-year-old boy, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. Hospital officials say the child is now in stable condition.
Family members tell 2NEWS the child's name is Kyson Thompson. They also say Thompson suffered brain damage and is in a coma.
Several others were in the apartment, and warrants were served in the hours after the disturbing discovery, Arthur says.
Police have not said how Lykins died but are still investigating.
