TULSA - Tulsa firefighters say gas cans accelerated a house fire around 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
Officials say the homeowner was able to escape the blaze near 37th Street and Yale Avenue.
Investigators are still looking for the cause, but they say the garage, kitchen and north side of the house was destroyed during the fire. The rest of the home sustained heavy smoke damage.
Fire crews had to shut down Yale because the hydrant was on the opposite side of the street from the home.
Investigators estimate house suffered about $50,000 in damages.
No injuries were reported.
