Hilberling taken back into custody

TULSA - A 19-year-old woman charged in her husband's death who was previously out on bond was taken back into custody Thursday.

Amber Hilberling is awaiting trial after her husband, Joshua Hilberling, died in June when he fell from a window at the couple's apartment.

In October, a judge ruled Hilberling would stand trial after prosecutors called seven witnesses during her preliminary hearing, including the apartment manager and emergency personnel who said Hilberling repeatedly admitted pushing her husband through the window.

She faces charges of manslaughter and second-degree murder.

On Thursday, a judge ordered Hilberling back into custody on suspicion of tampering with her GPS ankle monitor.

Hilberling's attorney, Jasen Corns, tells 2NEWS she fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.  While still a patient, the monitor's battery died and hospital staff would not allow a charger in Hilberling's hospital room.

The judge has ordered Hilberling's GPS records be provided to the state and defense counsel.

Hilberling is due back in court Dec. 5 for a status hearing.
