Habitat for Humanity project A Brush with Kindness aimed at beautifying north Tulsa neighborhood

TULSA - Hundreds of volunteers are needed in north Tulsa as crews are working to give the Crutchfield neighborhood a makeover.

One woman who lives in the area says her home hasn't received a new roof in 59 years and if it wasn't for this project it might never happen.

The Habitat for Humanity project called A Brush with Kindness is about improving the entire neighborhood.  Habitat volunteers have already built 26 homes in the square-mile area but now they are focusing on curb appeal.

Volunteers are needed for painting, clearing brush, repairing porches and driveways and installing gutters and handicap ramps to homes.

Hundreds of volunteers will be out helping with the project this weekend.

Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up Friday through Sunday at OSU-Tulsa on John Hope Franklin Boulevard near North Greenwood Avenue in parking lot A. Volunteers must be 18 or older.
