MAYES COUNTY, Okla. - Authorities say they have found the body of a 3-year-old boy after he disappeared Friday afternoon near Grand River.
Officials at the Grand River Dam Authority say the boy's body was found about a mile down river from his grandparent's home west of Langley in Mayes County, between the Pensacola Dam and Lake Hudson.
Justin Alberty with GRDA said the boy was with his grandparents when he went missing around 3 p.m. Friday
Authorities say, soon after he vanished, his grandparents found his T-shirt and shoes at the bank of the river.
Rescue teams, equipped with sonar searched long into the night Friday and resumed the search on Saturday morning, but were unsuccessful in finding the missing boy until around 7 p.m. Saturday, according to GRDA officials.
