Girl recognizes man in sketch drawing as person who tried to kidnap her at lemonade stand in Tulsa

TULSA -- As police continue searching for the man who raped a 12-year-old girl in Glenpool last year, a 9-year-old girl told 2NEWS the man in a sketch drawing is the same man who tried to kidnap her recently.

In response to 2NEWS reporter Dan Pearlman's question about who the man in the sketch looks like, the girl responded, "The guy that tried to kidnap me."

She said the man in the photo, who police say raped the 12-year-old girl in 2013 , is the same man who bought a cup of lemonade at her stand in midtown Tulsa during spring break. He tried to lure her and her friend in to his car .

As the man drove away, he threw his cup out. Police matched the DNA from the cup to the Glenpool rape .

The girl from Tulsa said she plans to meet with police this week.

"I'm gonna go describe the guy so they can do a drawing of him kind of like this," she said referring to the sketch of the Glenpool suspect.

Police describe the suspect as a Native American or Hispanic man in his late 30s to early 40s.
