Former Oklahoma state senator Ralph Shortey, 35, is expected to be arraigned at the Cleveland Courthouse on Friday on three charges related to child prostitution.

His attorney Ed Blau expects his client to enter a not-guilty plea.

The former state senator is accused of hiring a 17-year-old boy for sex in Moore, Oklahoma.

Two days ago, Shortey resigned his senate seat in a letter to Governor Mary Fallin saying that his charges against him are a distraction. In the letter, he also asked for privacy for his family.

He served the Oklahoma City district for seven years. He's married and has four three children.
