1st tenant moves in to One Place

TULSA - One of the newest developments in downtown Tulsa is now one step closer to completion.

About 70 workers at the city's Northwestern Mutual offices are completing their move to the new One Place Center.

This makes them the first tenants there.

Northwestern Mutual will occupy the top two floors of the smaller, five-story tower across from the BOK Center.

Managing Partner Lance Franczyk tells 2NEWS that the company hopes to grow to about 120 employees in the next three years.

He believes the new space will allow them that opportunity.

Franczyk also thinks that Northwestern Mutual can serve as a catalyst for more growth downtown.

"I think our big excitement about moving downtown is that it's going to be vibrant," he said. "We're just really excited about the energy downtown is going to start having."

Construction is still under way on the bottom three floors in Northwestern Mutual's building.

Check-6, a Jenks based company, is expected to move in to the third floor in the coming months.

The rest of that building will be used as retail and restaurant space.

One Place Center's 18-story tower is also still under construction.

Project Manager Don Summers tells us workers for Cimarex Energy, which will occupy about 90 percent of that tower, could start moving in early next year.
