TULSA - A Tulsa church is eliminating the high cost of prom dresses so girls can attend their school's big event.
The Clothing Closet at First Baptist Church in Tulsa is giving free prom dresses to anyone in need.
The church has partnered with Union Schools but it works with the entire Tulsa community.
"We still have about 100 dresses that we would love to put into the hands of young ladies going to the prom," said Janet Rader, Clothing Closet manager. "So we are opening up to the community to see if more people will take dresses."
The Clothing Closet is located at 61st and Mingo. It's open from 9 to 11 a.m. and every other Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Items include dresses, shoes and purses.
