Deputies: 1 dead, 1 injured in Creek County oil tank explosion south of Bristow

BRISTOW, Okla. - One man was killed and another was taken by medical helicopter to an area hospital after an oil tank explosion in Creek County Wednesday, deputies have confirmed.

Officials say crews responded around 11:40 a.m. to the location about seven miles south of Bristow after the blast could be heard from miles away.

Creek County deputies on the scene said the man killed was in his 20s. Neither he nor the other victim have been identified.

The men were working on transferring oil between two tanks when one ignited.
