Fire damages Keystone Pipeline plant

A fire caused major damage to an Arkansas plant that makes pipes for the Keystone Pipeline Project that would run through Oklahoma.

The small fire was contained to a single room deep within the plant which housed the computers that operate the facility.

Fire investigators say the fire will cost the plant more than $1 million in repairs.  Inspectors will return to the plant on Monday to try to figure out how the fire started and to help the company avoid another one.

The Army Corps of Engineers approved permits for the pipeline to run from Cushing to the Gulf of Mexico last month.

The original proposal was to create a pipeline from Canada to the Texas coast, but President Obama rejected the northern section.
