Firefighters break down door to battle fire at home being remodeled

TULSA - Firefighters had to break down the front door of a house on fire in north Tulsa early Wednesday.

First responders arriving on the scene near Apache and Lewis say they saw lots of smoke and flames just after 1 a.m.

"As soon as they opened the door you could see fire coming across the ceiling.  Immediately they went in and started knocking it down and went back into the structure," said Roger Schamer with the Tulsa Fire Department.

Firefighters say they had to work quickly because they were unsure if anyone was inside.

The home was empty while being remodeled.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
