Festival of Trees lights up Philbrook

TULSA - Plenty of holiday trees are lighting up the Philbrook Museum.

It's part of the annual Festival of Trees, which runs through next Sunday.

About 70 trees are on display.

These aren't the typical Christmas trees. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

Many of the trees are made from unusual material, like recycled soda bottles and ski equipment.

The trees are designed by Tulsa artists of all ages.

"We have some amazing creations. People who have been with us for many, many years and continue to build upon the tradition," said Tricia Milford-Hoyt with the Philbrook Museum. "There are others who've been inspired by what they've see in past years or just from the holiday spirit in general and they've created a unique object."

The museum also features 50 gingerbread houses on the second floor.
