The family of Elliot Williams, an inmate who died at Tulsa County Jail in 2013, was awarded $10 million in damages on Monday.

The lawsuit against Tulsa County centered on the death of Williams, 37, in 2011.

Prosecutors claimed he died after lying naked on the jail floor for 51 hours without access to food, water or medical care.

In 2013, a video showing the death of Williams was released. After viewing the video, a federal judge mandated that the video is admissible in the case, along with prior reviews or audits showing problems in the jail.
