TULSA - Friends and family gathered Tuesday to remember the birthday of a Tulsa woman missing nearly six years.
Tina Pitts would have been 50 years old. She disappeared from her east Tulsa apartment Nov. 5, 2006.
Investigators say evidence found inside Pitts' apartment indicates foul play was involved.
Pitts' family says even though they miss her, Tina's birthday is a reason to celebrate her life.
"Regardless, if I don't see her, wherever she is I (have) to celebrate," said Angie Pitts, Tina's sister. "I (have) to let her know I'm keeping her spirit alive."
Investigators believe it's likely Tina died long ago, but they're still working to bring her remains home so her family can have closure.
Anyone with information on Tina's disappearance or her whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (918) 596-COPS.
