EMSA prepares aid for hurricane-impacted areas

TULSA - Emergency Medical Services Authority in Tulsa is preparing its emergency, disaster response units, trailer and personnel to respond to hurricane-impacted areas, if requested.

EMSA says it will send a supply trailer stocked with supplies to triage and treat 150 to 200 patients per day for seven days. It also says it will have four ambulances, a six-wheel stretcher Polaris and a maintenance truck available.

The agency says, if needed, EMSA will be staffed and ready to leave within 90 minutes of being requested.

In May 2011, the EMSA response team in Tulsa was sent to Joplin, Mo. to help the people affected by the tornado.
